Islamic Vancouver

Islamic FlagVancouver is home to a diverse group of people from several backgrounds. To live in such a city requires people to be respectful, open-minded, and understanding. At the Canadian College of English Language we pride ourselves on these attributes and feel that we have created a comfortable environment for all students and staff.

At CCEL we have designated one room as a Sacred Space, that is, a non-denominational area where all students can go to pray, meditate, or reflect. There is also an arrow in the room which helps Muslim students orientate themselves in the direction of Mecca.

Specific requests can be made by students when it comes to their homestay choices. Students can request special Muslim meals (halal, for example), and even request to be with Muslim families.
