eh! restaurant opening July 1st

Vancouver’s newest restaurant on Alberni Street “eh! restaurant” will be catering to International students studying in Vancouver and Young professionals in the downtown core. Executive Chef Terry McCormic and Sous Chef Matt Hodder will feature culinary delights with a European and Latin American Flavor sure to impress all.

CCEL Summer Newsletter

· New restaurant bar opens on the second floor July 1 Canada Day.

· New 4th floor renovations finished. After summer these rooms will be for Executive classes, tutoring and student services.

· New Student Counseling staff for China (Alyssa), John (Taiwan), and Denira (Mexico). Their offices are on the 4th Floor. (In addition to Louis (Japan and Brazil), Cindy and Yujin (Korea), Samer (Middle East), and Zach (Europe).

· Construction is on track for the new Second floor completion of 7 new classrooms July 14.

· Canadian College opens September with new Work and Study Diploma and Certificate programs.

· CCEL Soccer team won the CISA Soccer Tournament in the spring and our CCEL Team 1 is coming first in their division in the summer tournament on now. Playoffs start next week.

· Staff and students have been watching the 2008 EURO CUP on the new high definition satellite service on the TVS in the restaurant. Screams, cheers, and cries of joy and despair in Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish, etc fill the air.

· The new roof garden patio is open and very popular for staff and students and provides a chance for students to enjoy a Vancouver summer day and the tranquility of flowers, trees, and grape vines.

· CCEL is full for July with waiting lists for Koreans, Mexicans and Brazilians.

· The CCEL student apartments, Rougemont Apartments, on Robson Street are full for July and August with 50 students from 10 different countries. Still some apartments available for September on.

· After school student barbques in the roof garden have also been very popular.

· Any students planning to extend their courses into July or August must register now or they may not be able to.

· Percentages for the summer:
– Latin America 19% (waiting list)
– Mexico 19% (waiting list)
– Korea 19% (waiting list)
– Europe 11%
– China 11%
– Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, 11%
– Middle East 10%

Lots of exciting new initiatives starting over the next month inline with the CCEL growth and development program. They will provide better facilities, new programs, improved student services, balanced nationality mix, and the best learning environment in Canada.

We are very proud of our accomplishments and know students and staff will benefit from the changes.
