Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.
Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

“I grew up in a small town, 20,000 people. When I was 18 years old I moved to study Journalism at CESUMAR University. As I was still pursuing more challenges in my life, I decided to move to Curitiba the capital of Paraná. This is where I met the Vancouver Institute a partner of Canadian College in Brazil. Now I am here living in this wonderful city achieving my dream. It has always been a dream of mine to live abroad. A few years ago I could not imagine my life like this, I always thought that this was unattainable, but I never gave up and here I am.
I initially came to Vancouver for a eight month Study & Work Program. I attended intensive English class at CCEL. When I started, I was definitely a beginner. I say this because I had never studied English in Brazil before. At the beginning, it was really hard. But, I realized that everybody was here for the same reason, which was incredibly positive boost for me and made me more comfortable to make new friends. I now have friends of many countries, I got to know their culture and learned some words in Korean, Arabic and Japanese. I learned that I was kind of “ignorant” about cultural diversity and even about the English language.
Before coming to Vancouver, I created a blog to report everything I was going to do in Vancouver. This idea did not only create more opportunities to keep my realationship with my friends in Brazil but also gave me an opportunity to work on the CCEL Blog in Portuguese. I also did some Journalism volunteering jobs. After the four months of class period I started to work as a busser in an African restaurant where I could practice English that I had learned during the intensive English classes at CCEL. Currently, I am working as a hostess at another restaurant in Yaletown.
I have been so involved with many different projects in Vancouver, which makes me feel very much at home. When I lived in Brazil, I was working full-time and taking an MBA program; however, it was not enough. So, I went to to enquire about diploma programs because the school has a good reputation for its education quality and facilities. it recently has received its PCTIA Accreditation and EQA quality assurance. I decided on taking the International Trade Co-op because Vancouver offers great job opportunities for this industry, and I can combine my background and my Brazilian connections to succeed in Canada.
After I complete this program I will explore about creating a life in Vancouver through the Canadian Experience Class.”
Students are not allowed to download torrents in class because it slows down the school internet for everyone. If you are downloading torrents please stop and if you know another student is please ask them to stop.

This week in Moscow, officials from Languages Canada (LC) and The Association of Russian Educational Advisors (AREA) signed an Agreement of Collaboration, the first of its kind in Russia, that will see both organizations develop a framework that fosters trust in order to facilitate trade and educational exchange.
In short: this means that CCEL provides quality programs recognized by the governmental representatives of Russia and Canada and this will have an immense impact to improving visa application process to come for studies in Canada for our potential students!!!
Each year 1,735 Russian students attend accredited language programs in Canada. With this agreement LC and AREA are hoping to double that number in the next few years. The Agreement of Collaboration stipulates that both organizations will create a working group that ensures that members are informed of developments that can affect educational trade. This exchange between the two countries will explore best practices between the Canadian language education sector and the Russian educational advisor sector. These practices can apply to specific Russian-Canadian issues or to global ones.
B.C. will offer more choice for students and encourage them to bring their smartphones and iPads to school to help with learning under a plan announced today to modernize the education system.
Families will have a greater say in what, how, when and where their children learn, and schools will strive to identify and support struggling learners sooner, Education Minister George Abbott told a Richmond gathering of student leaders from around the province.
As well, there will be regular teacher evaluations for the first time in recent history to ensure quality teaching, he told the Student Voice organization in what could be the most significant reform of B.C. public schools in two decades.
“The world has changed and continues to change and in order to keep pace, we need to shift the way we look at teaching and learning,” he said in a release distributed as his speech began.
“This plan offers a way forward and an opportunity for every student to do their very best.”
